Henry Glorieux
Biography
Henry Glorieux joined the Egmont Institute in May 2021 as Programme Manager of the Education & Training Programme.
Prior to joining the Institute, he was the Humanitarian Affairs Advisor at the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UN RCO) in Bangladesh (2016-2021). Before that, he was Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Djibouti.
Between 2012 and 2015, he was Senior Coordination Officer at the UN RCO in Djibouti. From 2008 to 2012, he worked in Tanzania as Evaluation Consultant for the UN RCO, as Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Programme Coordination Officer at the UNESCO Cluster Office for Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Tanzania and, as Programme Specialist with UNDP in Kigoma. Between 2005 and 2008, Henry worked in Niamey, Niger for the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and, at the UNDP Liaison Office in Brussels, Belgium. Earlier, he served with Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP-Canada) in Montreal, Canada and, with UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States in Beirut, Lebanon.
He has a Masters degree in Development Economics from the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (FUNDP), Namur, Belgium. He speaks French and English fluently.
