A Grand New European Security Strategy

When a basic assumption of one’s strategy is no longer valid, one writes a new one. That is the case of Europe today: we assumed that the United States would always be our ally and would never act as a rival against us. Then came the second Trump administration. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is absolutely right, therefore, that we need a new European Security Strategy (ESS). Not just to address Trump, though. Do we really have an effective strategy on the Russian threat, on the Chinese challenge, and for the Middle East?
