Tanguy Struye de Swielande
Biography
Tanguy Struye de Swielande is professor of international relations at UCLouvain, Senior Associate Fellow in the Europe in the World programme at the Egmont Institute, and Associate Researcher at the Quebec Council for Geopolitical Studies and the Institute for International and Strategic Relations – Indo-Pacific Observatory (IRIS).
He is director of the Scène internationale collection at the Presses universitaires de Louvain (https://pul.uclouvain.be/collections/sceneinternationale/). He specialises in geopolitics, geoeconomics and the foreign and defence policy of the major powers (the United States, Russia and China), the Indo-Pacific region, the analysis of decision-making, cognitive warfare and foresight. Over the past 20 years, he has published regularly in French, Dutch and English, in a variety of formats and venues, including policy papers, working papers, articles, books and newspaper articles. He has presented these documents to a variety of audiences around the world (private companies, the military, diplomats, academics, journalists, etc.). In 2021, he co-chaired the Strategic Committee of the Belgian Ministry of Defence, which was responsible for updating the country’s strategic vision.
