Justine Staelens
Biography
Justine Staelens joined the Egmont Institute in March 2024 as a Trainee Programme Assistant for the European Affairs Programme. Her research interests include gender perspectives in EU and national policies, migration, skills development and recognition and integration processes in the EU. She holds a Master’s degree in European and International Studies, with a specialization in Peace, Diplomacy, and International negotiations. In 2023, she wrote a thesis on the domestic implication of the Mexican Feminist Foreign Policy while she studied at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Mexico.
Her previous work experiences include a 6-month internship at Benevity, a Canadian company that provides a donation-, volunteer- and grant-management platform.
