By launching the ‘European Year of Skills’ in March 2023, the European Commission underscored the pivotal role of a workforce with the right skills as a crucial factor underpinning the competitiveness of the EU economy both now and in the future. A crucial first step in successfully designing and implementing the EU skills agenda, is to gain a better understanding of current and future labour market needs, taking into account foreign labour dynamics and their potential to address labour shortages in the EU.

Committed to this goal, the Egmont Institute, in association with the European Policy Centre and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, has the pleasure to invite you to a working lunch in which Randstad — global market leader in HR services — will present its latest EU-wide labour market analysis. Sonja van Lieshout, global head of public affairs at Randstad, will share detailed insights into the complex forces shaping labour dynamics and provide practical recommendations pertinent to policymakers, the private sector and academia.

Commentators:

  • Antonio Ranieri, Head of the Department for VET and Skills, CEDEFOP
  • Koen Nomden, Teamleader ‘Transparency and Recognition of Skills and Qualifications’ at the Commission’s DG EMPL

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with participants.

We would like to point out that the number of participants that can attend this event in person will be limited. We therefore kindly ask you to register by Tuesday 19 September stating your preference to join the meeting in person or online.
