Pre-G7 Summit Conference. 2014: from G8 to G7? The Future of the Gx System and Global Governance
Date
2 June 2014
Location
Egmont Palace, Petit Sablon / Kleine Zavel 8 bis, 1000 Brussels
On 4-5 June 2014 the leaders of the G7 (EU, US, Canada, Japan, Germany, UK, France, Italy) will meet in Brussels. This event is extraordinary, as the G8 format including Russia has been suspended due to the dispute over Ukraine. The Egmont Institute, Ghent Institute for International Studies, Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, and the G8 Research Group at University of Toronto invite you to a Pre-summit Conference on Monday 2 June in Brussels. The conference will take stock of the ongoing G7/G8 agenda. Since several of these processes are linked, the conference also addresses part of the G20 agenda. Speakers include Ms. Gabriela Ramos (G20 sherpa of the OECD), Amb. Yves Brodeur (Canada’s representative to NATO), Mr. Robert Fauver (former G7 sherpa of President Bill Clinton), in addition to Russian, Canadian and EU scholars and practitioners.
