The Egmont Institute is pleased to invite you to a closed-door seminar on 22 October 2024 from 10:00 to 12:00 CET with the newly appointed Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, Johan Borgstam. The event aims to bring together academics, experts, and practitioners focusing on the Great Lakes region, a geostrategic hotspot with the potential to influence the stability of the entire continent.

  1. Stef Vandeginste, Associate Professor at the Antwerp University and Senior Associate Fellow at the Egmont Institute 
  1. Koen Vlassenroot, Professor at Ghent University 
  1. Mélanie De Groof, Coordinator of the United Nations Group of Experts on the Democratic Republic of Congo 
  1. Josaphat Musamba, Doctoral Fellow at Ghent University
