Early 2021, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) will take over the rotating Presidency of the African Union (AU). At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, the Education & Training Programme will pilot an online exchange of expertise to support the DRC in this singular challenge of large-scale multilateral diplomacy. This exchange is designed for twelve high level Congolese diplomats who will be called upon to contribute to the exercise of the Presidency. The course will take place in November 2020 over a two-week period. Not only does it aim at reinforcing practical know-how and sharing Belgium’s experience in a multilateral context, but also at strengthening relations between Belgium and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
