The Egmont Institute, in cooperation with the Center for Global Development, organised an expert roundtable entitled “From Projects to Institutionalisation: Streamlining Labour Migration to the EU”. Bringing together representatives from EU institutions, international organisations, civil society and policy experts, the event explored how to develop more coordinated, sustainable and institutionalised labour migration pathways to the EU. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the EU and its Member States, connecting existing initiatives and scaling up labour migration and skills partnerships at EU level. Helen Dempster, Policy Fellow and Co-Director of Migration and Displacement at the Center for Global Development, delivered the introduction, followed by contributions from the World Bank, the European Training Foundation (ETF), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the European Policy Centre (EPC) and the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM).
