The first Steering Committee meeting of the European Union Training Initiative (EUTI) took place on 10 September 2026. Under the leadership of the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI.1), the EUTI consortium partners met with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), the European External Action Service (EEAS) Integrated Approach for Peace and Security division (PCM.1), and the Civilian Operations Headquarters (CivOpsHQ).
The EUTI project launched in 2025 is managed by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in Slovenia. It aims to respond, advise, support, and innovate in civilian CSDP mission training. Against that backdrop, the meeting aimed to review the achievements and progress in the implementation of the project, and to plan for its future development.
Key achievements include the establishment of strong institutional cooperation within a larger consortium (15 partners) than that of the predecessor projects. The number of training activities is planned to increase significantly in the coming months. In June 2026, the Egmont Institute organised a training on the EU Human Rights Due Diligence Policy for civilian and military staff of CSDP missions. New training activities are in preparation.
