29 Jun-3 Jul 2026: Exchange of Expertise on Green Hydrogen (Training)

For 5 days, the Education & Training Programme of the Egmont Institute, at the initiative of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Maxime Prévot, welcomed representatives from Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Morocco, Namibia and Oman for an Exchange of Expertise on Green Hydrogen. A combination of expert-led sessions and visits to leading Belgian organisations offered participants a unique opportunity to discover Belgium’s expertise and innovation firsthand and a dynamic platform to exchange knowledge and discuss the opportunities and challenges of the emerging green hydrogen sector. The exchange featured lively discussions on international hydrogen markets, the role of diplomacy in fostering hydrogen cooperation, financing mechanisms, market development, applied research, innovation and integrated renewable energy production. Field visits to the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, John Cockerill Hydrogen, Fluxys and other pioneering organisations gave participants valuable behind-the-scenes insights into hydrogen infrastructure, cutting-edge research, testing facilities, skills development and the technologies driving the energy transition. Beyond sharing knowledge, the programme created opportunities to connect Belgian organisations with representatives from the participating countries. These exchanges strengthened professional networks for future collaboration, reinforcing Belgium’s commitment to building strong international partnerships.
