Can the EU reconcile the pursuit of international competitiveness with the promotion of fair competition globally, and what role should the next MFF play in achieving this objective?

As the debate on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028-2034) unfolds, the EU is reassessing its budgetary priorities and policy instruments in response to an increasingly complex international, geo-economic, and political environment. Building on the experience of the NGEU, the seminar will examine the evolving role of competitiveness, industrial policy, strategic investment, and economic governance in shaping the future of European integration.

The seminar will feature keynote interventions by Dr Eulalia Rubio (Jacques Delors Institute), and Prof. Paolo Guerrieri (SciencesPo). The discussion will take place under the Chatham House Rule and will be moderated by Mr Jean-Louis De Brouwer, Director of the European Affairs Department of the Egmont Royal Institute for International Relations.

We hope you will be able to join us and would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance by Thursday, 25 June at the latest.
