At the initiative of Mrs Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and Federal Cultural Institutions, the Education & Training Programme of the Egmont Institute organised an Exchange of Expertise on Cocoa for a group of diplomats and civil servants from the Republic of Cameroon, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, the Republic of Ecuador, the Republic of Ghana, the Republic of Indonesia, the United Mexican States, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Dominican Republic and the Republic of the Philippines. Through a series of presentations and field visits, the programme presented the important role of the cocoa sector and Belgium’s expertise in this field. Similarly, this exchange of expertise was an opportunity to share the common and different points of view of each participant and expert on the subject. In light of the recent World Cocoa Conference, held in Brussels, this programme was a great opportunity to exchange with partner countries.
