The Education and Training team has successfully concluded the EU HRDDP training, organized in coordination with the European External Action Service (EEAS) – Peace, Partnerships, and Crisis Management Directorate (PCM) – and co-financed by the EU Civilian Training Initiative (EUCTI). Participants, all EU staff based at headquarters in Brussels or deployed on EU missions, gained an understanding of this new policy. The goal of the training was to support the EEAS in the operationalization of this policy through sessions covering Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (IHL), risk management, and access to reliable information and intelligence. Special emphasis was placed on exchanges and cooperation with partners, as highlighted by the interventions of various institutions, including the United Nations’s Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR), Belgium’s Royal Military Academy, Europe Liaison Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (OSRSG CAAC), NATO’s Centre of Excellence on Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR CoE), DISARM Foundation, and the International Committee of the Red Cross – ICRC. Exchanges with experts in the field, notably from EUCAP Sahel Mali, MINUSCA, UNSOM & UNSOS, were among the highlights of this training.
