At the initiative of the Belgian Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade, and the Federal Cultural Institutions, Mrs Hadja Lahbib, the Education & Training Programme of the Egmont Institute is organising an Exchange of expertise on the Functioning of the European Union for six eastern European diplomats. To encourage discussions on European matters and on the relations that connect Moldova, Ukraine, Belgium, and the EU, different exchanges and presentations will take place on various topics such as Belgium’s role in the EU ahead of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union ; Belgian bilateral relations with Ukraine and Moldova ; the EU’s policies on numerous subjects including foreign affairs, security and defense, economy, rule of law, trade, development and its policy for enlargement.
These sessions will be led by various experts willing to share their experience and perspectives on the EU policies and tailor-made visits will be organised to various European institutions in Brussels to provide the opportunity for our participants to meet with EU officials and to have a better grasp of the role of these institutions.
