This meeting with Paula C. Roque, currently finishing her PhD at Oxford University, will focus on outlining the tenets of Angola’s post war state and unpacking the complex security apparatus which serves as an internal instrument of stabilization and part of it’s foreign policy. It will highlight current threats and Luanda’s regional policy towards its neighbors and more generally its Africa policy. The presentation will end with a brief look at Luanda’s dilemma in the DRC. This session will be chaired by Ambassador Renier Nijskens, Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region, of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs.
