In 2017, 10 students from the third promotion of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration DR Congo are doing a three-month internship in the following Belgian public administrations: the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport, the Federal Pensions Service (SFP), the National Social Security Office (ONSS), the National Employment Office (ONEM) and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. A formal opening session was held on 30 January at the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs and was chaired by the Director General of the Egmont Institute, Marc Otte, and the Africa Director of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, Jozef Smets. The session was attended by the Congolese Chargé d’Affaires, Paul-Crispin Kakhozi, representatives of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Belgian Minister for Development Cooperation as well as representatives of each public administration welcoming a trainee. The Egmont Institute is contributing to the final module of the ENA’s one-year initial training program (June 2015 to June 2016) as part of its partnership with the ENA DR Congo. In course of May and June 2016, 6 experts will spend two to three days each in Kinshasa to share their knowledge with 97 future Congolese civil servants. Core subjects such as African integration, International relations, Post conflict and national reconstruction or Management and leadership will be covered. The first training session, led by an official of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took place from 9 to 11 May and focused on the development of an administration contract. See photogallery.
In the framework of Egmont Institute’s collaboration with the ENA DR Congo, the Institute and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed 7 students from the Ecole Nationale de l’Administration DR Congo for a three-month internship in the following public administrations: Federal Public Service Budget and Management Control, Federal Public Service Finance, Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport, Belgian Technical Cooperation and Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles.. In the framework of EGMONT’s collaboration with the ENA DR Congo, the Institute organised in Kinshasa a training session for the ENA’s second promotion consisting of 97 students, “Promotion Laurent Désiré Kabila”, from 8 to 18 December. The training focused on the process regarding the elaboration of a public policy, on decentralization, justice and education sectors in the DR Congo as well as on issues related to leadership and management.
